IntelliJ CE is not opening multiple projects in tabs anymore but in individual windows

One nice feature I noticed on IntelliJ a few weeks ago was the ability to open projects in only one window and they were displayed in different tabs. So we had project tab, then files tabs. But latest update seems to be back to opening in multiple windows by default.

I can't find a setting for that. Was this awesome feature removed?
