Intellij update required but fails on install

Work just gave me a new mac book pro, I'm trying to install Intellij for development and when I try to open it, I get a message saying that an update is required. After clicking install I get an error saying "An error has occurred please try again later." No stacktrac or other log files. It just fails

Please install from the .dmg file available at https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html or use https://www.jetbrains.com/toolbox-app/.
I did my install from https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html and I downloaded the ideaIU-2021.3.2.dmg. Still when I try to open the application I get the above message. I will try to install the toolbox-app and will let you know if that helps.
Please run from the terminal per https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011901879-How-to-start-IDE-from-the-command-line and provide the output.
Using tool-box I uninstalled and reinstalled and everything worked. Thanks.

I used ToolBox to install IntelliJ as well and it worked, otherwise it doesn't install on MacAir M2
