You may want to try to disable the incremental garbage collection (or using a more recent JVM). The JVM gets pretty unstable with any of the fancy garbage collection methods running IDEA.Bas

For me this seems related to a large "attrib.dat.data" file in the .IntelliJIdea70/system/caches directory. This file seems to be rewritten on every project open and currently is about 350 megabyte...
