This problem should have been fixed in 9.0.3 eap as http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issue/IDEA-54254.

At the moment in 9.x you cannot work with files other than pom.xml.This issue will be fixed in IDEA 10, please watch http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issue/IDEA-22472Thanks,Anton Makeev
