Podman connections to remote systems not working in Pycharm on macOS
Hi,
I am trying out Podman with Pycharm 2025.3.1.1 on a Mac, but for some reason Pycharm is not able to use the configured Podman remote connections.
I set up a connection on the command line:

If I use the Podman tools manually, everything is working fine and I can use the connection to work remotely on my server. But I cannot see this connection in the dropdown list in Pycharm's setting dialog, the list is deactivated (and Pycharm tells me that I am missing a valid connection - duh!):

What am I missing? How can I use a podman connection to a remote server in Pycharm?

@Ch, at the moment Podman and Docker on a remote host are not supported for Python interpreters in PyCharm or in the Python plugin for IntelliJ IDEA (see PY-52399 and IJPL-218396). Because of this, configuring or using such interpreters may not work reliably.
