Actually, there is no difference between the shelf and patches.Shelve/Unshelve is the same as Create Patch/Apply Patch with the only exception that shelved changes usually reside in a common place ...

Do you have any repositories under your GitHub account?Could you please attach a screenshot of the dialog.Please also try IDEA 12.1 and see if the issue is resolved there.

Have you tried clicking on the combobox arrow? Maybe there is the list of repositories, it is just none is selected by default.Unfortunately, you can't update, you'll need to reinstall fully.

Yeah, it looks like the problem is specific to the SSH interface.Is your private SSH key protected with a passphrase?
