Project root directory in One Drive

Symptoms:

1. Project is located in a folder shared via One Drive.

2. Created files disappearing.

3. Corrupted files without names appears. 

4. In the Project Structure tool window, non-existent folders appear.

5. IDE shows warnings that the file was edited externally.

Cause:

One Drive constantly makes operations with the assigned directory and doesn't allow other applications to read the directory correctly.

Resolution:

One Drive has the function "Files on demand" hidden under Settings | Sync and Backup | Advanced settings. Clicking on "Download all files" should make them locally available and thus mitigate problems with these files. The creation of new files may still cause issues.
